Who are the providers?

Providers on rTribe are independent contractors who have passed our standards for quality standard of care. Providers can be either licensed therapists, certified coaches, or both. Licensed therapists may also work as a coach if they choose to.

Counselors on rTribe are licensed, trained, experienced, and accredited therapists. This ranges from psychologists (PhD / PsyD), marriage and family therapists (LMFT), clinical social workers (LCSW / LMSW), and licensed professional counselors (LPC), to name a few. Each licensed counselor possesses a minimum of a Master’s Degree in their field.

Our professional coaches are highly trained, experienced, and have earned certificates &/or advanced training including graduate studies in coaching, and/or counseling. Coaches can be substance abuse counselors, pastoral counselors, &/or certified life coaches.

What is the difference between a counselor and coach?

Counselors, therapists, and mental health professionals are licensed professionals by the state or government, with extensive training to diagnose mental health illnesses, and provide the care necessary to treat them, or refer clients to those who can. Counseling is often times conducted for the use of revisiting one’s past and finding healing from wounds. To work with a counselor on rTribe, your primary residence must be in the same state the counselor is licensed in.

Coaching is a helpful method that looks toward the future. Coaching is for people who desire to see improvement and beneficial change in their lives. While coaching theory and approaches can vary widely, rather than focusing on a mental illness framework, which often entails understanding wounds from the past, coaching often looks forward and asks the question, “How can we improve your lifestyle and meet your goals?” Coaches are not licensed by a state or government.

Who specifically will be helping me?

Based on the preferences you enter, we will match you to an available provider who best fits your objectives that you select, as well the type of challenges and struggles you are dealing with.

Each professional has their own approach and areas of focus, so we put a lot into finding the best person who can achieve the best results for you. However, if you start the process and you feel your provider isn't a good fit for you, you may elect to be re-matched to a different provider. The most courteous, best practice would be to discuss this with your provider before changing, or transferring, providers.

If I signed up, how long until I'm matched with a counselor/coach?

TribeMatching™ is instantaneous! We add a little extra special sauce into the mix in order to select the best fit coach for you. While you will be matched instantly, a provider will respond within 24 hours during business days. Hopefully they can respond more quickly initially, but please be patient as they get connected to you.
