How much does it cost?

rTribe offers 3 different subscriptions for our Online Counseling/Coaching service. All of our subscriptions are automatically charged on a monthly basis. There are no contracts whatsoever, and you can cancel your plan anytime.

You begin with 7 free days to connect with your counselor or coach before you are charged, to give you an idea of what the service is like. But you should be aware that change requires commitment and we recommend you give it at least a full one month try before deciding to quit.

These are the current plans that are available for one-on-one, confidential, professional support:

  • Daily Chat Sessions ($37.50/week):
    • unlimited chat
    • 1 daily provider check-in
    • $150/month
  • Chat +1 Live Session ($49.25/week):
    • unlimited chat
    • 1 daily provider check-in
    • 1, 30 minute live session/month
    • $197/month
  • Premium Chat +4 Live Sessions($99/week):
    • unlimited chat
    • 2 daily provider check-ins
    • 4, 30-minute live sessions/month
    • $396/month

How does the consultation period work?

When you first sign up to rTribe Online Counseling/Coaching, we offer you a 7 day period to try schedule a consultation with your provider and see if you want to pay for professional support on rTribe. This gives you time to connect with your counselor or coach and make sure you are satisfied with your rTribe Online Counseling/Coaching experience.

During this time you’ll have the chance to:

  • TribeMatch with a provider based on your preferences
  • Get to know each other
  • Set up a working plan together
  • Try out the chat and video call feature
  • Experience how online counseling/coaching works
  • Get a sense of which subscription plan would fit you best

You can use the all the online counseling/coaching services for free, for 7 days.

During this time, if you’ve decided to commit, you can subscribe to a paid plan any time.

If you subscribe before the consultation period ends, we guarantee you keep the provider you’ve started your conversations with.

NOTE: After the 7 day consultation period ends, there is no guarantee that you will be able to re-match with the same provider in the future. You will have access to an archive of your chat conversation.

How can I subscribe to a paid plan?

You can subscribe to a paid plan any time during the consultation period or afterwards, by tapping any of the Subscribe buttons in chat or in Settings->Online Counseling.

  • You’ll  see all our available subscription plans
  • You can choose whichever best fits your needs
  • You’ll be asked to provide a payment option
  • We accept either PayPal or Credit Card/Debit Card payments
  • Once the payment method was authorized you’re good to go
  • Use online counseling as long as you wish

We charge a monthly subscription (rather than per session) because in order to succeed in counseling/coaching, research shows there must be a commitment to the change process. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

What happens when the consultation period expires?

After 7 days, when the consultation period expires, your conversation with your provider will be archived. You can still reach it and read everything, but you won’t be able to continue the discussion with your provider without subscribing.

If you decide to continue - just hit Subscribe anywhere in the app, and you’ll be able to re-start the service. We’ll try our best to match you with the same provider you had before, but we can’t guarantee they will still have space once your consultation period ends.


How will I pay for my rTribe subscription?

You can pay for your subscription with a credit card or with your PayPal account. The good news is the first 5 days are free! So you have time to make sure you are satisfied with your rTribe Online Counseling/Coaching experience.

We charge a monthly subscription (rather than per session) because in order to succeed in counseling/coaching, research shows there must be a commitment to the change process. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

How does rTribe charge my account?

rTribe is a monthly service that will automatically charge you every month on the date you subscribed. If your billing date is scheduled for a date that does not occur in a given month, you'll be charged on the last day of that month instead. Your payment method (credit card or PayPal) will be charged at the beginning of your billing cycle, but it may take a few days for the charge to post to your account.

What if I want to change or stop my subscription?

NOTE: If you cancel your subscription, it will be cancelled effective immediately and you will not be able to continue messaging or doing video/audio sessions with your provider. There is no guarantee that you will be able to re-match with the same provider in the future. you will have access to an archive of your chat conversation.

Best practice and common courtesy would encourage you to always first discuss wanting to change/stop your subscription with your provider. After that, changing your subscription is easily done by going to:

Chat screen > Your provider chat screen > counseling chat settings > counseling options > change plan. Or to cancel from this 'Your plan' screen you can also select "cancel subscription" to end your rTribe Online Counseling/Coaching subscription.

What is the refund policy?

We hope you have a positive experience receiving professional care via rTribe. If you are ever not satisfied, you can request a new provider in one of two ways:

  1. Provider chat>settings (gear icon)>Request a new provider
  2. Home screen>settings>online counseling & coaching>your provider>setttings 3 dots>request a new provider.

rTribe is like the ‘digital space’ or a platform to help connect you to professional services, and those services are paid to the providers. Generally refunds for unused time of live sessions are not granted because the professionals charge for time that is scheduled to be used, much like medical professionals or other services who are paid according to their appointments. However, customer service reviews refunds on a case-by-case basis in conjunction with feedback from the provider. We make accommodations if unique or legal circumstances (medical, death, disability, court orders, etc.) dictate the reason for the refund request.

Can I be reimbursed by my insurance?

Services offered using this site are generally not covered by health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.

rTribe services by Professional Coaches will likely not be covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. You will likely only be eligible for reimbursement by your insurance if you are being treated by a Licensed Counselor or Therapist practicing under their license, not by a Professional Coach, even if that Coach is licensed.

Coverage and benefits for traditional therapy and counseling services change from one health insurance company to another and from plan to plan, but generally the following rules apply:

  • With many health insurance plans, coverage can be partial or very limited.
  • Even if your plan covers all your costs, the co-pay that you would be required to contribute may be higher than the entire cost of rTribe.
  • In many cases, before you can get reimbursed by your insurance company, your therapist would have to diagnose you with a mental disorder or issue. This diagnosis would be sent to the insurance company and recorded in your medical file. In some cases the therapist would also have to provide additional clinical information to the insurance company, such as treatment plans, summaries or copies of the entire record.

If you consider using your health insurance, please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Please note that rTribe offers very affordable pricing options which are typically comparable with the co-pays of many insurance plans.
